Men's Soccer Falls 4-1 to Nationally Ranked Charlotte

The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team (1-11-2, C-USA 1-5-1) fell 4-1 to seventh-ranked Charlotte (13-2-1, C-USA 5-1-1) on Saturday night. Charlotte struck first in the 24th minute, scoring a goal off a penalty kick. The Owls played aggressively in the first half with freshman Kevin Byrne receiving a red card in the 37th minute. Junior defender Michael Quinn took his third shot on goal of the season in the 39th minute, but it was blocked by 49ers goalkeeper Austin Pack. Shortly thereafter, veteran Ramon Whittaker would receive a red card in the 41st minute to put the Owls two men down.
Charlotte was able to capitalize off of FAU playing two short in the second half, scoring their second goal in the 52nd minute. The 49ers would go on to score again in the 75th and 81st minutes. The Owls' only score came off of a Charlotte own goal in the 85th minute.
FAU sophomore goalkeeper Theo Jamilloux had four saves on the night, which brings his season total to 57. Besides Quinn's two shots on goal, additional shot attempts came from senior Ryan Price and sophomore Owen McCorkle.
The Owls will play non-conference opponent Stetson on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. in Deland, Fla.
