BOCA RATON, Fla. - After picking up 10 blocks in two matches, including six against Western Kentucky, Florida Atlantic University's Katarina Stepanovic was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week. The middle blocker from Barosevac, Serbia averaged 1.67 blocks per set over the weekend.
In Friday's match against UAB, Stepanovic finished with four block assists and also had nine kills versus the Blazers. On the season, the junior has amassed 49 blocks (0.80 blocks per game) and is ranked first in the conference with a .409 hitting percentage.
Stepanovic is the first FAU volleyball player to earn a weekly conference award in nearly eight years.
The Owls travel to Charlotte on Sunday to face the 49ers. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
