BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team will travel to North Texas and Western Kentucky for a key road swing this weekend. The Owls (15-6, 6-2 C-USA) have won three matches in a row and five of their last six.
FAU won both matches last weekend in convincing fashion, sweeping both Southern Miss and Middle Tennessee. Kristina Rankovic was named FAU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance.
North Texas (13-9, 4-5) split its two matches last week, losing to Charlotte in four sets before sweeping Louisiana Tech. The Owls and Mean Green met twice last season. FAU won at home in five sets on the final weekend of the regular season to help clinch a berth in the C-USA tournament. North Texas got its revenge six days later, winning in four sets in the first round of the tournament.
Western Kentucky (20-5, 8-1) is the only team to beat FAU in the Owls' last six matches, winning in straight sets in Boca Raton back on Oct. 5. The Hilltoppers had their eight match winning streak snapped by UTSA on Friday, but recovered to sweep UTEP on Sunday.
