The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team completed the WKU/Kenny Perry Invitational on Tuesday tied for eighth place with Oakland, putting up a team total of 915.
Junior Derron Peyton was FAU's top finisher, tying for 11th after 54 holes. Peyton shot 75 in the third round for a tournament total of 222, improving his 16th place standing from day one. He previously shot 72 and 75 in rounds one and two, respectively.
Sophomore Connor O'Rourke followed Peyton tying for 26th, carding rounds of 71, 79, and 76. Newcomer Michael Perez was close behind coming in tied for 34th place with an overall total of 240.
Rounding out FAU's competitors were freshmen Cody Christensen, tied for 54th, and Chris Thomas, finishing in a tie for 59th place.
The Owls will travel to Estero, Fla. to compete in the Homewood Suites-Hilton Garden Inn Classic hosted by Florida Gulf Coast beginning Monday, Oct. 27.
