Owls to Host First Two Conference Opponents

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic men's basketball team will host its first two Conference USA games ever this week when both East Carolina and Old Dominion come to The Burrow.
The Owls (5-11, 1-1 C-USA) split their first conference road trip, losing to Louisiana Tech before rallying to defeat Rice. Junior forward had a double-double in both contests, extending his to four games with a double-double.
ECU (11-5, 0-1) lost its C-USA opener to Old Dominion 81-70 on Saturday, despite 21 points from Paris Roberts-Campbell. The Pirates won the only previous meeting between the two schools, a 74-60 final on January 21, 1993.
Old Dominion comes to FAU Arena on Saturday. The Monarchs (7-9, 1-0 C-USA) opened their C-USA slate with a defeat of ECU last Saturday. While this is just the second ever meeting between FAU and ODU (ODU 70, FAU 55, November 17, 2006), there will still be a familiar face on the Monarch bench. Jeff Jones is in his first season at ODU after 13 years as the head man at American, where he coached against FAU each of the last four seasons.Thursday's game against ECU will be a "Blue-Out" with fans encouraged to wear their favorite blue FAU shirts. The first 400 FAU students in attendance will receive a blue FAU t-shirt, courtesy of the Student Program Board.
Saturday matchup against Old Dominion will be FAU Family Night. Family Fun Packs (includes a ticket, hot dog and a soft drink) are available for just $15. There is a minimum of three tickets per transaction and they must be purchased in advance.
