Sand Volleyball Falls to FGCU 4-1

FORT MYERS, FL - Megan Knapp and Alisha Noble won their match at no. 5, but the Florida Atlantic sand volleyball team lost its dual match to Florida Gulf Coast 4-1 on Friday.
Knapp and Noble swept the Eagles' tandem of Jill Hopper and Whitney Masters 21-15 and 21-16. Jennifer St. Sume and Gabriella Pyle lost a pair of close sets at no. 4 (21-16, 21-17). At no. 3 Darija Sataric and Andrea Galinis nearly forced at decisive third set, but fell 26-24 in the second set.
Isabelle Arboleda and Chandler Hatton (no. 1) and Alessia Pizzoccheri and Jelena Jovanovic (no. 2) struggled in their respective matches.
The Owls will travel to Siesta Key next weekend, facing Georgia State in a dual match on Friday, before participating in the Fiesta on Siesta Key tournament on Saturday and Sunday.
