FAU Signs Head Volleyball Coach Fernanda Nelson to Contract Extension

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University has signed Head Volleyball Voach Fernanda Nelson to a contract extension. The extension runs through the 2017 season.

Nelson has overseen a transformation of the FAU volleyball program. In her first year as head coach, the Owls more than doubled their win total over the previous season and had a win over a Big East team in non-conference play.

Last season, Nelson led FAU to a six-win improvement over her first season and the Owls qualified for the Conference USA Tournament. It was the first time the team had made the conference tournament since 2006, its first season in the Sun Belt.
