BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University Men's Basketball team will officially begin its 2013-2014 season with two home games, on Friday, Nov. 8th against Ave Maria and then the Owls will face St. Francis College on Monday, Nov. 11th.
FAU will have several players looking to make their first official appearance for the Owls including University of San Francisco transfer Justin Raffington who was also named a team captain in his first year of eligibility on the court.
Ave Maria began their 2013-2014 season by defeating Trinity College 73-48 on Monday night. St. Francis College faces the University of Miami on November 8th before facing the Owls on November 11th.
On Friday, when the Owls face Ave Maria, men's basketball posters will be given away, and the team will participate in a postgame autograph session. Boca Helping Hands will be collecting non-perishable food items pregame. Fans who donate a food item will receive a buy one ticket, get one free voucher good for any Conference USA game.
On Monday, all active duty, reserved and retired military members will receive $5 tickets in honor of Veterans' Day. 125 military veterans and their families will be served meals. In order to accommodate the families, the doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Both matches will start at 7 p.m. and live stats and live video will be available for both matches at www.fausports.com.
