PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FL - The Florida Atlantic women's golf team sits in fifth place, with two individuals in the top 10, after two rounds of the Marsh Landing Invitational.
FAU junior Anna Wiklund shot a 2-over par 146 (72-74) on Monday, at the par-72 Marsh Landing Country Club. She is in third place overall, and trails the leader by only six strokes. Her teammate Brooke McPoyle shot a 1-over par 73 on her first 18 holes, and finished with a two-round total of 150, good enough for a tie for ninth place.
Kayla DeSuza is next for the team at 157, tying her for 28th, then it's Nicole Marino (161, T-38th) and Marilyne Cadieux (174, 53rd place). Madden Leen, playing as an individual, shot a 172 to finish a slot ahead of Cadieux.
The Owls' team score of 614 puts them comfortably in fifth place, and only has them 11 strokes out of second. Stetson leads at 582, followed by Cincinnati (603), Jacksonville (607) and Cal Poly (608). Stetson's Alex Buelow shot a 140 to top the individual leaderboard, while UC's Andrea Malek is one stroke ahead of Wiklund in second place, at 145.
The final round of the two-day tournament at Marsh Landing wraps up on Tuesday.
