MUSCLE SHOALS, AL - The Florida Atlantic women's golf team begins play today in the Sun Belt Conference Championships at the Cypress Lakes Golf and Country Club.
The women will compete on the Fighting Joe Course, one of two 18-hole courses at the Shoals, which is part of the famed Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.
Senior Anna Wiklund leads the squad in scoring average at 76.75. She finished in the top five in two tournaments this season, and was low on the team in eight of the season's nine tournaments.
The Owls' other senior, Brooke McPoyle, is next lowest, averaging 80.48 a round, followed by sophomore Kayla DeSuza (83.92).
The next three on the roster are separated by tenths of a stroke: freshman Nicole Marino (85), junior Marilyne Cadieux (85.08) and junior Madden Leen (85.81).
The three-day tournament concludes from Muscle Shoals on Wednesday.
