Thompson Has Low Round for Owls at UCF Invitational

DADE CITY, FL - Justin Thompson shot a 1-over-par 73 to lead the Florida Atlantic men's golf team in day one of the USF Invitational on Sunday.
Playing at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club, the senior co-captain's round places him in a tie for 15th overall. Andrew Mangini is next up on the leaderboard for FAU, at 6-over-78.
The next three Owls entered into the 3-day tournament each shot an 80: Michael Baskovich, Bradford Kidd and Stephen McPoyle. The team total after day one is 311, placing them 15th in the field.
UCF has a five-stroke lead at 284, 4-under as a team. They also have the top two individuals, Jose Joia (65) and Brad Schneider (67).
Day two of the invitational continues today.
