ORLANDO, FL - The Florida Atlantic men's golf team finished 12th in the two-day UCF Rio Pinar Invitational.
Senior Michael Baskovich was the low man on the squad with a 223, just seven strokes over par. Justin Thompson and Lawrence Hoch were one stroke behind Baskovich at 224.
Clinton Wilhelm had his lowest round on the final day, a 74, to finish at 230. Pablo Gerboles-Parrilla ended up with a 232. The team shot a three-round total of 895.
Stephen McPoyle, playing as an individual, ended with the lowest FAU Tuesday score, a 1-over-par 73, to give him a 225.
Wichita State won the team competition with a 20-under-par 844, four strokes ahead of the host school, UCF, and six strokes better than the team leading after day one, Florida Gulf Coast. FGCU did have the individual winner, Jack Hernandez, with a 9-under-par total of 207.
The men host the annual FAU Spring Break Invitational beginning this Friday at the Fountains Country Club in Lake Worth. The 15-team event will have opening ceremonies on Thursday, and the three-day competition itself concludes Sunday.
