JACKSONVILLE, FL - Florida Atlantic junior Anna Wiklund finished up play in the Courtyard Classic at Hidden Hills Country Club by coming in third place among individuals in the six-team tournament.
The native of Falun, Sweden, followed up her 2-over-par 74 from Monday with another 74, and finished just three strokes behind the winner, Lacey Fears of Mercer University. Fears' teammate, Aurelie Wriath, shot a 69 on Tuesday to tie the tournament record and finished second overall.
Mercer won the team title with a 908, 17 strokes ahead of Jacksonville University.
The Owls did not have another round in the 70's on Tuesday and finished in sixth place. Kayla DeSuza and Madden Lean were next up on the FAU leaderboard, tying at 245 (23rd place). Brooke McPoyle dropped to 27th with a total score of 248.
Nicole Marino finished 31st overall with a score of 264.
The women's golfers are back in action again on February 28 when they begin play in the Gary Freeman BCU Invitational, at the LPGA International golf course in Daytona Beach.
