BOCA RATON, FL - After two key wins last week, the Florida Atlantic men's basketball team will seek to solidify its position in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament with games against divisional opponents Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky.
FAU (11-14, 7-5 Sun Belt) won both its games last week in dramatic fashion, defeating Denver 72-71 on free throws with 1.1 seconds left on Thursday night before rallying from a 19-point second half deficit to beat North Texas 86-81 in double overtime on Saturday night.
The Owls will face Western Kentucky (8-17, 4-8) on Thursday night. FAU beat the Hilltoppers 67-66 on January 26 in a game they trailed by three points with less than a minute left. Shavar Richardson had a season high 25 points and Jordan McCoy scored the final four points of the contest. Thursday's game will start at 8 p.m. eastern and the game will be televised on Fox College Sports.
Saturday's game against Middle Tennessee (23-4, 12-1) will be a rematch of a 67-54 Owls' loss on January 12. FAU shot just 31.1 percent from the floor in that contest. The game will also be streamed live at ESPN3.com and is set for a 6:30 p.m. eastern start.
Live audio of both games will be available at www.fausports.com.
