Men's Golf to Conduct Fall Tryouts

The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team will be conducting tryouts in August and September for the student-athletes interested in competing for a place on the team during the upcoming 2011-12 season. NCAA requires that all walk ons must be full time (minimum 12 hours) enrolled students.
The tryouts will take place at Ocean Breeze Golf Course in Boca Raton over a two-week stretch. The dates are August 26-28 and September 2-5. How is the team selected?
1. Players who represented FAU in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament are on the team.
2. There are a few spots given to incoming student-athletes, based on resumes.
3. Walk on tryouts.
The cut off date for "walking on" is Monday, Aug. 1st. All the following information must be completed and sent to Coach Sands by Aug. 1st.
Scheduling- Incoming players trying out must:
To meet the team's practice schedule you must;
- Schedule morning classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday
- Schedule morning and afternoon classes on Tuesday and Thursday
- Email schedule to Coach Sands (asands6@fau.edu)
Compliance- Incoming players trying out must:
Visit this NCAA website www.eligibilitycenter.com and fill out the proper information. Student-athletes need to submit the following documents to the NCAA:
• Up-to-date/highest ACT/SAT scores;
• Final high school transcript with proof of graduation date on the transcript;
• Completed form entitled: Request Final Amateurism Certification......this will result in a 10 digit NCAA Eligibility Center number which you will e-mail to Coach Sands (asands6@fau.edu)

A. Hospitalization and Physicals- Incoming and returning players trying out must:
Everyone (incoming and returners) must supply the following hospitalization forms which can be found here. At this site you will find the list of forms that need to be filled out and signed. They will be located under the freshman and transfers but EVERYONE including returners must complete and return all of these forms to Coach Sands. The forms must be totally complete and signed by a physician (MD or DO). Forms signed by chiropractors will not be accepted. All forms must be mailed and will not be accepted electronically. These forms include:

B. Transportation- Incoming and returning players trying out must:
