Women's Golf Rewarded for Academic Excellence

BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team received an academic award from the Sun Belt Conference. The award is based on the overall team grade point average from the previous year.

"We always stress to the girls that they aren't just athletes," said head softball coach Joan Joyce, "They are student-athletes and this award is an indication of that."

The team was given the award for having the highest cumulative team grade point average of all the women's golf Sun Belt conference teams. Coach Joyce and the team was given the award at the Sun Belt Conference Golf Championship.
