BOCA RATON, FL (March 23, 2011) - Florida Atlantic head men's basketball coach Mike Jarvis has added yet another honor to his list of accomplishments this season as has been named one of 16 national finalists for the Ben Jobe Award.
The award, sponsored by CollegeInsider.com, goes to the best minority coach in Division I as voted on by the award committee. Jarvis has already earned Sun Belt Conference and National Association of Basketball Coaches District 24 Coach of the Year honors. He led the Owls to their most wins (21) and longest winning streak (eight) at the Division I level.
