BOCA RATON, FL- Florida Atlantic men's golf team finished 14th after completing the final round in the Seminole Intercollegiate on Sunday. The Owls ended the weekend at the Southwood Golf Course in Tallahassee, FL with a team total of 895 (307, 291, 297).
Leading the 18 team event all three days, Arkansas finished on top with an 844. While Kennesaw State finished with a team score of 847, they grabbed second place by shooting the best round of the tournament with a 276 on the third day.
FAU was lead by freshman Casey Matthews (79, 76, 71) and junior Michael Baskovich (82, 70, 74) who both finished the tournament T60 with a 226. Kelly McHugh was T64 (75, 71, 81 -227). Rounding out the scoring for the Owls, Clint Wilhelm (79, 74, 76- 229) and Justin Thompson (74, 80, 76- 230) were fourth and fifth on the team, finishing T75 and T77.
The Owls continue playing the next two days, March 14 and 15 in the UCF Invitational at the Rio Pinar Golf Club in Orlando, FL. After that, the team will play host to the Spring Break Championship March 25-27 at the Gleneagles Country Club.
