BOCA RATON, FL- The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team improved their team score by a stoke from the first round of play to move up a spot on Friday to second place in the Eastern Kentucky University El Diablo Intercollegiate (5,902 Yard/ Par 72). The team has a combined score of 629 after carding a 314 on the second day of the event. They trail Eastern Kentucky (621) and lead third place St. John's (637) by 12 strokes.
Consistent play for the Owls has been a product of steady scores from Marilyne Cadieux, Jennifer Norton and Elisabetta Bertini, who are all in the top ten after the second round. Norton, had the best score of the day for FAU with a two-over-par 74 to place her individually in fifth place.
Sophomore Cadieux, finds herself setting the pace for the Owls shooting a composite score of 151 over the two rounds. She leads FAU and stands in third place overall.
Senior, Elisabetta Bertini (160) also shot in the 70s to help the Owls in a top two finish out of seven teams. Kayla DeSuza (165) and Brooke McBoyle (167) both finished in the top 30 in day two.
FAU hopes to keep improving in the third round Saturday morning to finish strong in the EKU El Diablo Intercollegiate. The final round will begin tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.
