Florida Atlantic enters the 2011-12 season seeking to defend its Sun Belt Regular Season title from a year ago. The Owls will boast one of the best backcourts in the nation with its two leading scorers and preseason First-Team All-Conference selections Greg Gantt and Raymond Taylor returning from last season. Both players are expected to pass the 1,000 point barrier early on in the schedule.
Additionally, senior guards Shavar Richardson and Alex Tucker also have an opportunity to pass career milestones this season. Richardson has a chance to join Taylor and Gantt in the 1,000 point club, while Tucker should become FAU's all-time career assist leader this year.
FAU will travel to Seattle for the World Vision Classic and the Washington D.C. to face American before returning home to host George Mason in its regular season home opener on November 19.
