Men's Basketball Hosts Successful Fundraising Dinner

BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic men's basketball team hosted a fundraising dinner at Matteo's Restaurant in Boca Raton on Wednesday.
The event was a complete sellout and door prizes were handed out which included hats, duffel bags, and jackets. Several other items were also auctioned off including an authentic game jersey. Proceeds from the auction as well as additional donations to the program will go into the men's basketball Excellence Fund which will allow the team to buy items for the benefit of the program. Additionally, more than 20 season tickets for the upcoming basketball season were sold.
"It was a great night for Florida Atlantic University and the FAU men's basketball program. We had a standing room only crowd and were able to raise more than $50,000 for the program," said FAU head men's basketball coach Mike Jarvis. That money will go towards items like laptops, travel suits and paying for summer school classes for the kids. Those are the kinds of little things that can make a big difference in the success of the program."
