BOWLING GREEN, OH - The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Bowling Green State University on Sunday afternoon. The host Falcons improved to 7-2-1 on the season.
The host got a favorable bounce on a corner kick opportunity to grab a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute. Bowling Green scored twice in a five-minute space early in the second half to secure the victory. Danny Baraldi found the back of the net in the 46th minute while Rodcliff Hall finished a scoring chance from 10 yards out after a long ball three minutes later.
Deniz Bozkurt led the Owls offensive attack with three shots. Darnell King added two shots and Daniel Mendes and Alex Royer each added one. The Owls totaled seven shots and goal keeper Jeremy Crumpton was credited three saves.
The Owls stand 5-5-1 on the season and return to South Florida to battle Western Michigan University on Saturday, October 8 at 7 p.m. from the FAU Soccer Complex. Live statistics of the match can be seen at www.fausports.com.
