Men's Hoops Opens 2011-12 Practice

BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team received its 2010-11 Sun Belt Championship rings on Saturday. The team got its rings commemorating its 2011 Sun Belt Championship and NIT appearance after its first full practice of the 2011-12 season.
Head Coach Mike Jarvis addressed the crowd, which included FAU President Mary Jane Saunders and introduced the 2011-12 Owls before handing out the rings. President Saunders, along with support staff and donors also recieved rings. After the rings were given out, Coach Jarvis previewed the upcoming season and thanked those in attendance for their continued support.
The Owls enter the 2011-12 season seeking to defend their regular season championship from last season. FAU returns four starters from last season's championship squad, including leading scorer Greg Gantt and first team All-Sun Belt selection Raymond Taylor.
The Owls will begin their season on November 8 when they host Lynn in an exhibition game.
