BOWLING GREEN, KY - Western Kentucky swept the University of South Alabama volleyball team as the Jaguars fell 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-22) to the Hilltoppers Saturday afternoon at E.A. Diddle Arena. WKU entered the match tied with Middle Tennessee for top honors in the division.
WKU (21-2, 8-1 SBC) was led offensively by Melanie Stutsman's eight kills. FAU was led by Thacilli Pereira's seven kills. Madison Lang and Cintia Nightingale both had eight digs for the Owls.
The Toppers posted a .250 attack percentage, recording 41 kills on 91 attacks and committing 18 errors. FAU (.013) had 20 kills and 19 errors in the loss.
The Owls (3-16, 0-7 SBC) will now return home to host UALR and Arkansas State next weekend. First serve versus the Trojans is set for 6:30 p.m. at FAU Arena.
