BOCA RATON, FL - In its first home game in almost a month, the Florida Atlantic men's basketball team beat Florida Memorial 94-76 on Monday night.
FAU (9-6) led right from the opening tip on Monday, but could never shake the Lions (6-7), who trailed by as many as 10 in the first half. The Owls led by five, 52-47 at the half, behind 19 first half points from Greg Gantt.
Florida Memorial took a four point lead midway through the second half, before FAU scored 21 unanswered points to kill any hopes of a Lions' victory.
The 94 points was a season high for the Owls as a team. Greg Gantt had a season-high 28 points and Kore White blocked a career best six shots on the evening.
FAU will resume Sun Belt play on Thursday when they host South Alabama. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and live audio and live stats will be available at www.fausports.com.
