BOCA RATON, FL - Middle Tennessee dropped a season-high 49 second-half points on FAU en route to a 85-53 victory on Wednesday night at the Burrow.
The Owls (4-15, 1-6) were led on offense by Teri Stamps who scored 12 points to go along with three rebounds and three steals. Breana Turner also added eight points for FAU who dropped their second game against MTSU this season.
The Blue Raiders (17-4, 8-0) shot 54% from the field during the game and had six players crack the double-digit mark in scoring. Ebony Rowe led the way with 19 points and 10 rebounds. The freshman sensation is averaging a double-double this season.
Tina Stewart added 15 points and Icelyn Elie also had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. After trailing 36-21 at the half, FAU could not contend with the blitzing Blue Raider defense and were outscored 49-32 in the second period.
Both teams had trouble holding onto the basketball as there were 59 combined turnovers in the game.
The Owls will try to shake off their fourth straight defeat as they wrap up the current three-game home stand this Saturday with a matchup against Western Kentucky.
Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the FAU Arena. Live audio of the game will be available on www.fausports.com.
