The Florida Atlantic men's basketball team lost to Middle Tennessee State 66-57 on Saturday night.
The Owls (14-15, 10-8 Sun Belt) were sluggish from the start and fell behind early. The was as large as 17 in the first half before FAU scored the last seven points of the half to trail 33-22 at the break. MTSU scored the first six points of the second half and never surrendered the lead.
FAU lost its third game in a row and the fifth time in seven games. Sanchez Hughley scored 13 points and tied his career high with 11 rebounds.
The Owls now advance to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Hot Springs, AR. The Owls will be the no. 8 seed and play South Alabama.
