BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic volleyball team defeated ULM in three sets (25-14, 25-17, 25-18) on Saturday.
The Owls (13-17, 4-10 Sun Belt) dominated the first set from the outset. ULM pulled within three at 11-8, but a 7-0 FAU run, including two Kristyna Dzmuranova service aces and a Dzmuranova kill put the set away.
The second set was tied at 11 when Cintia Nightingale served the Owls out to a six point lead. The Owls eventually won the set 25-17. ULM committed nine errors during the set.
FAU started out slow in the third set and allowed the Warhawks to keep the set close. The score was tied at 14 when the Owls went on an 11-4 match clinching run, aided by three more Dzmuranova kills.
The Owls now await the results of Sunday's Sun Belt matches to see if they are still alive for a bid to the Sun Belt conference tournament.
FAU continues its five match homestand when it hosts South Alabama on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
