Boca Raton, Fla. - Janelle Blake's hard work, determination and passion for soccer has been recognized as the Florida Atlantic University women's soccer player has been named one of the Sun Belt Conference's best players by the national website topdrawsoccer.com.
Blake, the Owls' senior captain, was rated one of the 17 best players in the conference and one of just three defenders listed. She earned second team all-conference honors in 2010 and helped FAU qualify for the Sun Belt Conference's postseason tournament.
The native of Nepean, Ontario, tallied three assists this fall to match her previous career-best offensive season. All three of Blake's points were recorded in conference matches. She concluded her four-year FAU career with the second most minutes played in program history (6,607). Blake started 72 matches, which ranks eighth on FAU's all time list.
