Boca Raton, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University swimming and diving program has been recognized for the fourth straight week by the Sun Belt Conference with junior Garret LeMon being named the Male Diver of the Week. The award was announced Wednesday by the league's office.
LeMon, a native from Citrus County, Fla., had a pair of runner-up performances from the 1- and 3-meter diving boards in FAU's dual meet victory against junior college national power Indian River State College on November 6. The co-captain scored 231.38 points from the judges in the 1-meter competition and collected 237.23 points in dives from the 3-meter level.
This is second time this season that the Sun Belt Conference has honored a diver for the men's team. Junior Ryan King received the weekly diving achievement on October 28. Meanwhile, women's swimmer Jonna Nyback (Nov. 3) and Eszter Bucz (Oct. 21 and Oct. 28) have also been recognized by the league this season.
The men's swimming team returns to the pool on Thursday, November 11, when it hosts Texas A&M University in a special Veteran's Day meet, beginning at 6 p.m., at the FAU Aquatic Center.
