BUFFALO, NY - The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team had their three-match winning streak snapped on Sunday afternoon and fell to Buffalo 1-0 at UB Stadium.
The Bulls (7-8-1, 3-2-0) scored the only goal of the game in the first half when Mike Unwin tallied his fifth score of the season off a header in the 33rd minute.
The Owls (5-7-2, 2-3-0) outshot Buffalo 8-6 in the second half but could not find an equalizer. Rocco Pecora led FAU with four shots.
James McCormick recorded a career-high with 11 saves in net. The redshirt sophomore fell four saves shy of the FAU all-time single match record of 15 saves.
FAU will play their final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday against North Carolina State on the road.
The Owls need to win their regular season and finale on Saturday November 6 against Bowling Green at home in order to qualify for the Mid-America Conference Tournament. Saturday's game against Bowling Green will begin at 7 p.m. at the Glades Field on the Boca Raton campus.
