Women's Golf Places Seventh in Xavier Tourney

Daytona Beach, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team had a strong performance in one of the south region's top collegiate fall season tournaments, placing seventh in this weekend's Xavier Invitational at the LPGA International Golf Course near Daytona Beach.
Shooting a 314 score during Sunday's final round, the Owls finished the 54-hole event with a 934 total. That score was seven strokes behind sixth place Lamar University. Daytona State College used its familiarity with the 6,084-yard, par-72 course to capture the team title.
Leading the way for FAU was sophomore Marilyne Cadieux, who tallied a top-15 finish with a 231 total score across the three days. She had her best round with a three-over-par 75 on Saturday.
Sunday's top performer was senior Jennifer Norton, who had a four-over-par 76. The strong finish put her in a tie for 28th place with a 234 score. Fellow senior Elisabetta Bertini tallied a 235 score, highlighted by a 76 on Friday. Meanwhile, sophomore Anna Wiklund and senior Brooke McBoyle rounded out the consistent team performance in the event.
The Owls will return to the links on October 31 for the three-day Pat Bradley Invitational in Fort Myers.
