ORLANDO, FL - The Florida Atlantic men's soccer team defeated Houston Baptist 2-0 on Sunday afternoon in the second game of the UCF Fall Classic in Orlando, FL.
The Owls (3-2-1) took the lead in the 29th minute when Thorstein Georgsson tallied his first goal of the season off a Darnell King assist. Late in the second half, FAU would add to the lead when Jose Guerra recorded his first goal of the season in the 88th minute to make it 2-0. Jordan Kelly tallied an assist for the second straight game.
Owls' goalkeeper Jeremy Crumpton played solid again in net as the freshman tallied three and recorded his third shutout of the season. Huskies' goalkeeper Chris Todd tallied three save in the loss.
After coming off the bench to score the game-tying goal on Friday night, sophomore Darnell King played the reserve roll effectively again on Sunday as the Tampa, FL native picked up the assist on the go-ahead goal. King leads the Owls with five points.
Florida Atlantic will be back in action on Wednesday at 7 p.m. when they host Central Florida at FAU Soccer Field.
