White Sweeps Blue in Intrasquad Match 2-0

BOCA RATON, FL - The White team defeated the Blue team 2-0 in the Florida Atlantic University volleyball team's intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday. The scrimmage marked the end of the team's preseason practice schedule.
Seniors Krystena Castro and Kristyna Dzmuranova led all players with 11 and nine kills respectively. The White squad, which featured many of the newcomers in addition to a rotation of Castro and Dzmuranova dominated the first set from start to finish. The second set, while much more competitive, was also won by the White team.
Both sets featured numerous examples of the athleticism and agility expected of this year's team.
"It was a great start to the season and gives the team real reason to be excited," said head volleyball coach Jody Brown after the match.
The team opens the regular season on Friday, August 28 in Orlando, FL where it will take part in the UCF Invitational.
