Three FAU Golfers Compete in Tournaments

This past weekend, three Florida Atlantic University men's golf team members competed in different tournaments.
Ben Silverman, a junior, competed in the Investors Group Ontario Amateur Championships at the Oxford Golf and Country Club. After firing three straight rounds of even par 71, Silverman shot a 4 over 75 in the final round, which was good enough to place him in a tie for 24th place.
Kelly McHugh and Justin Thompson both competed in the Florida State Open at both the Quail Valley Golf Club and John's Island Club West in Vero Beach, FL.
McHugh, a sophomore, narrowly missed the cut after shooting rounds of 75 and 76. Thompson, a freshman, made the cut and impressed after that, shooting rounds of 74, 69, and 74. He finished just 11 shots off of the winner and tied for 24th.
McHugh and Thompson, as well as fellow teammate Amit Odaiyar also qualified for the Florida State Match Play Championships, which will start on August 6th. David Ziglar is an alternate for the event.
