Track Ties for Ninth at Sun Belt Outdoors

MURFREESBORO, TN - The Florida Atlantic University track team tied with South Alabama for ninth place at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships over the weekend.
The Owls' highest finish came in the 4x400 meter relay, where the team of Suzan Chisholm, Kerry-Ann Stewart, Trishauna Clarke and Toyria Mattear placed 2nd to host Middle Tennessee. In the 400 meter hurdles, Mattear had FAU's highest individual finish, coming in third behind a Sun Belt Championship record time of 57.83 by FIU's Naim Yisrael and an NCAA Regional qualifying time of 1:00.11 by Taryn Simmons of Louisiana-Lafayette. Mattear's time of 1:00.42 in the event was her second regional qualifying time of the season.
Mattear and Friederike Feil will prepare for NCAA East Regional which will be held May 28-30 in Greensboro, NC.
