BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team was featured on GolfWeekTV, mentioned as one of the nation's fastest rising programs. Under second year head coach Angelo Sands the Owls won its first major tournament championship in 2009, claimed all three of its duel meets and saw sophomore Kelly McHugh become FAU's first men's golfer to qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
Sands and his student-athletes have done a remarkable job in improving the university's national ranking 114 spots since last season, lowering its team average by over 15 strokes-per-round in 2009. The mention on GolfWeekTV is one of several from media outlets who have praised FAU for being one of the NCAA's most improved teams.
