BOCA RATON, FL- The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team dropped a spot to finish day two in 12 place at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. The tournament is held at Cypresswood Golf Course (PAR 72/ 7,220 Yards) in Houston, Texas.
FAU (305, 310 - 615) hit three strokes higher than yesterday and is three strokes back of Western Kentucky University (300, 312- 612) and nine behind Louisiana-Monroe (306, 298- 604). Both are within FAU's reach with a solid final round of golf tomorrow morning. Middle Tennessee State University (295, 287 - 582) and the University of Denver (291, 291- 582) are tied for first.
Kelly McHugh (73, 76-149) and Ben Silverman (74, 76-150) are both in position to move up tomorrow and make a top 20 finish. Will Cottle (83, 77- 160) shot six strokes better than yesterday and moved up three spots.
"I am very disappointed" head coach Angelo Sands said. "We played great all spring and our expectations were to do well here and it isn't happening".
Sterling Searcy Jr. will be the first to tee-off tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. for the third and final day of play at the SBC Tournament.
