Owls Start Outdoor Season Well

BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University track team began its outdoor season with a great showing at the FAU Twi-Light Invitational over the weekend.
Megan Miller took the pole vault title, clearing a school record height of 11'5.75" in the process. In the triple jump, Ashani Roberts finished second with a jump of 39'4.5". Patricia Gumbs won FAU's second individual event title of the meet, winning the 800 meters in a personal record time of 2:13.71. Toni Jackson finished second in a personal record of 2:15.35.
Gumbs also recorded a 5th place finish in the 1,500 meters. Barbara Fronrath had the last event title of the meet for the Owls, breaking the tape in 10:43.52 in the 5,000 meters.
FAU returns to action on Friday when they compete in the Hurricane Challenge, hosted by the University of Miami.
