FAU Takes Women's Tennis Match from JU

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's women's tennis team improved to 3-6 with a 5-2 victory over Jacksonville University, Friday afternoon.

The Owls swept the doubles matches to take an early match lead. Danielle Simone was to the first to grab a singles point, playing no. 6 with a 6-2, 6-2 win. Freshman Mrazkova soon followed at no. 3 singles, in a three-set match.

The third and deciding fourth points were picked up by Dominique Wimmer at no. 2 singles with a 6-4, 6-3 victory and Emma Rossiter playing no. 5.

As Rossiter was wrapping up her three-set match 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 JU had mounted a come back with wins at no. 1 and no. 4.

FAU will next play host to Northwestern State, 1 p.m., February 23 at Patch Reef Tennis Center in Boca Raton, FL.
