The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team was unable to make up any ground during Tuesday's final round to finish in 12th place at the 32nd Pat Bradley Invitational in Fort Myers, Fla.
Senior Jennifer Norton carded an 80 score during the final 18 holes on the 6,193-yard, par-72 layout at the Pelican Preserve & Country Club. That gave her a three-round total of 225, which tied for 27th place individually. The Port St. Lucie, Fla. native fired rounds of 72 and 73 on Monday, with the even-par 72 being the lowest score recorded by an Owl women's golfer this season.
As a team, FAU had a 923 composite score, finishing three strokes behind 11th place finisher University of Cincinnati. The tournament featured 15 NCAA Division I teams from the South and Midwest.
Other FAU performers included freshman Marilyne Cadieux, who shot three consistent rounds in the 70s, highlighted by an even-par 72 in the second round. She has played six rounds this season, with all scores being in the 70s. Cadieux finished the event with a 226 score, which was good enough for 32nd place.
Junior Elisabetta Bertini carded the team's lowest round on Tuesday, posting a four-over-par 76. She improved her score during each round of the event and finished with a 237 score.
Sophomore Anna Wiklund carded two 78 rounds on Monday and ended the tournament with a 241 total, while senior Gina Larsen shot consecutive rounds of 79 in the second and third rounds to finish with a 242 score.
Furman University captured the team title by seven strokes over the University of South Florida. The tournament field also features Florida International University and University of North Texas of the Sun Belt Conference and Midwest teams from Missouri State University, Drake University, Cincinnati and Bradley University.
The Owls return to the links on Monday at the Stetson University Tournament in Deland, Fla.
