BOCA RATON, FL- Florida Atlantic University's football team practiced two and half hours today in overcast conditions at the FAU Track and Field Complex. After the second consecutive day with a rain and lightening delay, practice was moved to the artificial turf in the center of the track.
Several Owls stood out during 7 on 7 and 11 on 11 drills. Junior receiver Chris Bonner made a couple of exceptional receptions as he was pressured by several defenders. Another junior stood out in Jeff Blanchard. On several plays Blanchard was able to use his athleticism to exploit a small gap and dash up the field for a significant gain. Senior linebacker Frantz Joseph showed power as he broke through the line and disrupted running plays.
The FAU football team will practice tomorrow at the field behind the Tom Oxley Center beginning at 3:30. The practice will be the fifth of the season and will be followed with a three-a-day practice on Monday.
Upcoming Events Fanfest will take place on Saturday, August 16 beginning at noon at the FAU Track and Field Complex, Boca Raton campus. The event is free and open to the public and will feature FAU's fall sports team, autographs and an interactive game area for children.
