The Florida Atlantic University football team wrapped up preparations for Saturday's Fanfest scrimmage with walk-through drills. The walk-through was the third practice of the day and players did not wear pads.
The walk-through practice was halted by thunderstorms after 40 minutes. Players and coaches returned shortly for another 45 minutes of practice. With full pads on for the second practice, Charles Pierre looked more like a receiver as he caught a pass between two defenders, broke a tackle and scored a touchdown.
Coach Howard Schnellenberger and the defending Sun Belt and New Orleans Bowl Champion FAU Owls will host Fan Fest tomorrow, Saturday, August 16 beginning at noon at the FAU Track and Field complex. Bring the whole family for a day of games, food, football and fun as the Owls football team will be available for autographs before taking part in a scrimmage at 2 p.m.
Season and individual game tickets are on sale now. Tickets will be available for purchase at Fanfest. The Owls begin their home schedule against the University of Alabama-Birmingham on Saturday, September 6 at 4 p.m. at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
