BOCA RATON, FL - Having won four of their last five games, the Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team will try to continue their winning ways when they travel to the University of Louisiana-Monroe for a game Wednesday before hosting Arkansas State on Saturday.
ULM (8-14, 2-8) has a perimeter oriented attack led by the guard trio of Tony Hooper, Jonas Brown and Jordan Payne. Hooper (15.1 points per game), Payne (14.2) and Brown (13.5) combine to score more than 42 points a game. As a team, the Warhawks average 70 points a contest. The trio combined for only 22 points in last year's 73-62 loss to FAU in Boca Raton, with 17 points coming from Brown.
FAU will try to avenge its first conference loss of the season when Arkansas State comes to the Burrow on Saturday night. The Indians are lead by sharp-shooting guard Ryan Wedel. The junior from Minneapolis, KN averages 15.9 points a game and had 30 points, including the game winning basket, in ASU's 79-77 win over the Owls earlier this season in Jonesboro.
Friday morning, fans can join Coach Walters and head women's basketball coach Chancellor Dugan for a Coaches' Breakfast at 8:00 a.m. Friday morning to review the ULM games and previews the weekend doubleheader against Arkansas State. The brekafast will be held in the Founders' Lounge, on the second floor of the Oxley Center.
Wednesday's game starts at 8:30 p.m. and Saturday's game starts at 7:00 p.m. Live stats for Saturday's game will be available via GameTracker at fausports.com. Live audio for both games can be found on WMEN-640AM or by logging on to fausports.com.
