BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women's volleyball team will resume Sun Belt Conference play on Friday, October 10 at 7 p.m. when they host North Texas at the FAU Arena. The Mean Green won last year's meeting between the schools, sweeping the Owls in Denton, Texas. However, none of the players who accounted for UNT's 41 kills in the 2007 match are on this season's roster. The Mean Green has three players averaging more than two kills a set.
The Owls wrap up the weekend on Saturday, October 11 at 7 p.m. when the University of Denver comes to FAU Arena. Denver is led by senior outside hitter Holly Benson, who is averaging 3.2 kills a set, and reigning "Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week" Kacie Wikierak, who averages almost four digs a set. The Pioneers took the 2007 encounter with FAU 3-0 in Denver, Colorado, despite a double-double from Mallory Deneen in her first trip back to her home state.
The first 100 fans in attendance will receive autographed volleyball posters at Friday's match. Live stats and webstreaming will be available for both matches on www.fausports.com.
