BRADENTON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's women's golf team competed in their first tournament of the season at the Waterlefe Golf and River Club (par 72/ 5,962 yards) in Bradenton, FL. The University of South Florida hosted the two day, two round Waterlefe Invitational on Monday, October 6 and Tuesday, October 7. The invitational was originally slated for three rounds of play but was shortened due to heavy rain and lightening.

FAU (302, 308- 610) finished 9 of 16 teams outscoring Sun Belt Conference members Florida International University and the University of South Alabama. Two senior Owls broke the top 25 individually with Kimberly D'Andrea tying for second place and Praewnapa Phol-Uayporn tying for 25. D'Andrea led the tournament in total pars (28) and par 4 scoring average (3.80).

The FAU women's golf team will next compete at the Xavier Invitational on Friday, October 10 and Saturday, October 11 at the LPGA International Legends Course in Daytona Beach, FL.
