Playing in front of the largest crowd of the season (1,090), Florida Atlantic University was shut out by the University of South Florida 3-0 in Tampa. USF is ranked no. 12 in the nation and the match is the first of four out of conference road matches for FAU.
The FAU (4-10-1) defense held the Bulls scoreless for 77 minutes, before Sebastien Thuriere of USF sailed a goal over the head of FAU goalkeeper Phillip Lamarre from about 25 yards out. Lamarre totaled four saves during the match. USF (9-3-2) added two insurance goals in the 82 and 86 minute to end a nine minute, three goal scoring rally.
FAU has completed regular season Mid-American Conference play but will be back in action at the University of Central Florida on Saturday, November 1 at 7 p.m. FAU begins the MAC tournament on November 11.
