FAU Athletes Take Part in Kids Fitness Festival

Several members of the Florida Atlantic University football team recently took part in the Kids Fitness Festival of the Palm Beaches. At the two-day event, held Thursday, July 19 and Friday, July 20, children learned the basics of more than 40 sports from the area's leading instructors and interacted with athletes and mascots.
Arranged for elementary and middle school-aged children, the event gave everyone a chance to participate in activities and play games or make arts and crafts. The FAU players instructed participants on some football drills, but the biggest highlight was the FAU autograph signing sessions.
The FAU football team has just a few days left before hitting the practice field on August 8 at the Tom Oxley Athletic Fields. The Owls will open their 2007 campaign on September 1 against Middle Tennessee at 4 p.m. The contest will take place at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
