Student-Athletes Participate in Reading Day

As part of Reading Day on April 20, several Florida Atlantic University student-athletes visited Cypress Creek Elementary. Five FAU students read to David Rotham's fourth grade class.
Men's basketball players Sanchez Hughley and Xavier Perkins, women's soccer player Megan Coyne, diver Lisa Thompson and men's soccer player Borce Ancevski all participated in the event. An alumi of FAU, Mr. Rotham brought in the FAU athletes to inspire his students to read.
Reading has become a national focus. One way to improve the students' reading ability is through mentors, which is one way FAU student-athletes are able to serve in a small role.
