Widlansky Named to Dick Howser Watch List

Robbie Widlansky, a junior at Florida Atlantic University, has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association watch list of 50 candidates for the Dick Howser Trophy on Thursday. The award is given to the top player in collegiate baseball.
Widlansky is currently ranked in the nation in RBI per game with 1.26 and leads the Sun Belt Conference with 53 RBI. His offensive numbers are bolstered by 69 hits (3rd in the league), and a .401 batting average (2nd in the league).
The members of the NCBWA will choose the Dick Howser Trophy based on three rounds of voting. The 2007 winner will be announced at the College World Series in Omaha, NE on Friday, June 15.
